JOHN LEROY BUTTS
MAPLE PARK-John Le Roy Butts, 58, of rural Maple Park died Sunday, May 7, 1967,
at his home. He was born August 23, 1908, in Virgil Township, the son of Henry
and Suzannah Hamsmith Butts. On December 11, 1940, he married Emma Sommer in
Clinton, Ia. They farmed in Kane County until 1952 when he retired and moved to
the present home. He had been employed the past 14 years at Holcomb Lumber Yard
in Sycamore. He attended Virgil school.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs.
Stephen (Lois) Delia of Chicago, Mrs. Jack (Carolyn) Brannon of Sycamore; five
sons, Dennis of California, George of Washington, Howard, David and Richard at
home, four brothers Charles and Henry of Maple Park, James of Aurora, Arthur of
rural Elgin, six sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Ann) Faber of Maple Park, Mrs. John
(Martha)
Kirchman of Clare, Isabelle Butts of Elgin, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Olinski of
Massachusetts, Mrs. George (Lucy) Mogler of Batavia, and Mrs. Edward (Jane)
Uszcienski of Carpentersville, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the
Conley Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Anderson officiating. Burial will be in
South Burlington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m.
Tuesday.

SYCAMORE- Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Conley Funeral
Home for John LeRoy Butts, 58, of rural Maple Park, father of Mr. Jack (Carolyn)
Brannon of Sycamore, who died Sunday, May 7, 1967, at his home. Rev. Larry
Anderson officiated and burial was in the South Burlington Cemetery. He was
known here, having been employed for the past 14 years at Holcomb Lumber Yard in
Sycamore.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs.
Carolyn Brannon, Sycamore and Mrs. Lois Della, Chicago and five sons, Dennis of
California, George of Washington and Howard, David and Richard at home.
