William P. Eddy

William P. Eddy, 77, well known and very well liked resident of this community, where he had lived his entire life, died suddenly at his home, 122 North Cross Street, Wednesday following
a heart attack. He had been in failing health for some time.

He was born May 11, 1883 in Sycamore, son of John and Arvilla Harms Eddy. He attended the local schools and on June 3, 1916 was married in Genoa to Grace Hemenway, who died in 1957.  Mr. Eddy was an interior decorator here for some 50 years. He also was employed part time in the former Wetzel Bros. Jewelry store in this city. He was active in musical circles and served as director of the local Schubert Orchestra, which was very popular many years ago. He also served as an alderman of the third ward for eight years. He was a member of the Federated Church. Mr. Eddy possessed many kindly traits of character and was liked and respected by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by his family members and by a host of friends.

Surviving are two sons, William Bryce and John L., both of Sycamore; two grandchildren; and a brother, Jack of this city.

Final services are to be accorded this Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Van Natta Funeral Home with Rev. H.L. Michael, pastor of the First Congregational Church at Lisle, officiating.
Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
