Caroline Brendt Eddy

 

Caroline Brent Eddy, 80, of rural Sycamore died Monday, April 9, 2001

at her home. A memorial service will be at a later date. A memorial

fund has been established in care of  Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.

 

She was born Jan. 12, 1921 to Michael J. and Alvinia (Elenberg) Brendt.

She married Kenneth A. Coleman o  Sept. 27, 1941 and then William B.

Eddy on July 21, 1962. She was a rural mail carrier for 16 years, retiring

in 1968.

 

She was a graduate of West Chicago High School and attended Northern

Illinois University. She was a member of the Federated Church in

Sycamore, a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, a member of Dekalb

County Radio Watch, a former officer of the Women of the Moose and

a founder the Sycamore Lassie League.

 

Survivors include a daughter Karen Harold) Hardy of Sycamore; two

sisters, Viola Davis of Aurora and Patsy Lou Averill of Lake Worth,

Fla.; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and several

nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William in 1999;

a son, David Lee Coleman,; two brothers, Arnold and Melvin Brendt;

and three sisters, lois Jean Wingquist, Ella Jaffray and Iola Roloff.
