Mrs. Morris Elliott

Esteemed Pioneer Resident of County Died on Monday Morning at Homestead
Southeast of Sycamore

Mrs. Ellen Elliott died on Monday morning, October 5, at her home southeast
of town.  She had suffered for nineteen months from a complication of
diseases due to a fractured hip.

 

Ellen El Homedu was born July 20, 1846, in Chenango county, New York.  She
came to this state with her parents when she was one year of age and has
lived in this vicinity ever since.  She was married on Sept. 1, 1868, to
Morris Elliott and immediately went to live on his farm where they have
ever since resided.  She was a member of the Baptist church and was always
energetic in her efforts to do good.

 

Her father, Joseph El Honedu, was of French descent and lived in new York.
He died in 1845, and her mother some time later.

 

There survives Mrs. Elliott, besides her husband, three children, Willard
Lester of Elburn, Jessie Morris and Amy, who are at the parental home.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home
southeast of town.  Rev. L.D. Weyand of Chicago will officiate and the
interment will be in Ohio Grove cemetery.
