MRS. OLLIE FOSTER DIES

 

    Mrs. Ollie Foster of Leaf River died in her home Friday night after a long illness.  She was 92 years old.

    Mrs. Foster was born Sept. 15, 1862 in DeKalb county, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ancil Austin.  She was married to Joseph Foster in March, 1881.  He preceded her in death 31 years ago. 

    Following their marriage, they moved from Kirkland to Elgin, and over 50 years ago moved to Leaf River. 

    Mrs. Foster had the first telephone office in her home and was operator for the Leaf River - Eagen Telephone company for 18 years.  She also operated a confectionery store for a number of years. 

    She was a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Leaf River Methodist church, and the Sunset of Life group of that society.  She was also a member of the Mt. Morris Chapter O. E. S. 

    She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Addie Davis, Terry, Mont.; a niece, Mrs. Pearl Schreiber of Forreston, who made her home with Mrs. Foster for many years and attended school in Leaf River.  There also are several other nieces, nephews and cousins.  Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. 

    Services were held Tuesday at 1 p. m. in the Leaf River Methodist church.  The Rev. William Lewis, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the Maple Cemetery, Kirkland.

Ollie and Joseph had no children
