Mrs. Adolph Hoppe died at the Fairbury Hospital Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Hoppe had gone to the hospital for an operation for goiter but passed away while being prepared for the ordeal. The body was brought back to the home, about three miles southwest of Cullom on Saturday and the funeral held Sunday afternoon.

Short services were held in the home at 1 o'clock after which the body was conveyed to the Charlotte Lutheran Church where the Rev. A.A. Hahn delivered a very touching sermon to a large congregation of sorrowing relatives and friends. The burial was in the Chatsworth Cemetery.

Grace Bargman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bargman and was born in Saunemin Township on September 2, 1878. She was married to Adolph Hoppe in Cullom on February 18, 1903. Four years ago she passed thru a very serious operation but fully recovered. Several months ago her health began to fail again and three weeks ago she went to the hospital to receive treatment.

She is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Casper Bargman of Chatsworth; William Bargman, Jr. of Weston; Otis Bargman of Forrest; Ralph Bargman of Saunemin; Mrs. Lizzie Blaine of Forrest; Mrs. Margaret Custer of Upland, Nebraska; and Mrs. Susan Rusterhartz of Forrest. All were present at the funeral. Others from a distance attending included, Herman Hoppe of Kingston, Illinois; Mrs. Henry Jacobs of Dixon; Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Uphoff of Onarga; Mr. and Mrs. R. Schriefer of Waupon, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. J. Kraemer of Gilman.

She was a woman much loved by all who knew her and her untimely death is much regretted.
