Mrs. Mary Parisot died at her home in this village at two
o’clock Monday morning, at the advanced age of 79 years, 1 month and 16 days.
Mrs. Parisot was born in Ranruph, Alsace, France, February
5, 1847. She came to this country when six years old with her parents, Joseph
and Caroline Mathis.
February 25, 1864, she was united in marriage to Mr. John
Parisot at the Catholic church at Somonauk and moved onto a farm West of Somonauk.
Here they remained until their removal in 1880 to Somonauk to enjoy the fruits
of their labor.
To Mr. and Mrs. Parisot were born four children: John and
Edward, who died in infancy, and Emil of Oshkosh, Wis., and Eugene, of
Somonauk. The husband preceded the wife in death May 29, 1917.
Besides her two sons there are left to mourn Mrs. Parisot’s
departure, four grandchildren, Lawrence, Alice, Dorothy, and John Parisot and
two great grandchildren, Alice Kastler and Leonard Parisot.
The funeral was held at the Catholic church at 9:30
Wednesday morning, services being conducted by Father Welter. Interment took
place at the Catholic cemetery.
