Leon E. Thomas, 90, of Dekalb, Illinois died Wednesday, July 26, 1995 at Rochelle Nursing Home-East. He was born July 1, 1905 in Sycamore, Illinois, the son of Emory L. and Sarah Thomas. He married Leora F. Overton. Leon attended Sycamore schools, was an auto mechanic employed by various auto repair businesses, most recently for Fargo Motors in Sycamore, retiring after more than 30 years. He bowled regularly until the age of 85. He was a 57-year member of the First Congregational Church of Christ in Dekalb.
Leon is survived by two daughter, Elaine (John) Merchant of Sycamore and Janice (Keith) Rebhorn of Dekalb; a son Jerry (Victoria) Thomas of Scottsdale, Arizona; three granddaughters, Valerie, and Dawn Rebhorn of Dekalb and Katherine Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandsons, Adam Merchant of Sycamore and Park Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ; one brother, Harvey (Evelyn) Thomas of Dekalb and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, his wife Leora in 1992, six brothers and one sister
