Mrs. Theresa Parisot departed this life at her home in this village at ten o’clock Sunday night. She was one of out oldest residents, having celebrated her 91st birthday the 18th of last month.

Mrs. Parisot was born January 18th 1838, at Alsace, France, and came to this country when she was thirty years of age, locating in this community.

She was united in marriage in the year 1871 to Mr. John Peter Parisot. The couple engaged in farming shortly after their marriage and continued on a farm until poor health necessitated Mr. Parisot to retire and they moved to Somonauk in the spring of 1880. The husband passed away the following year.

The departed continued her residence in this village until her death. She had no children and her brother’s and sisters long since preceded her in death. The one person who was closest to her and will miss her most is a grandniece, Miss Myrtle George, who for twenty years has made her home with the departed. During this long period Miss George did everything that loving and willing hands could to make her declining years comfortable and happy. These efforts were thoroly (sic) appreciated by Mrs. Parisot, who always took pleasure in sounding the praises if Miss George to her friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at the Catholic church, conducted by Father Esser of Maytown. Interment took place at the Catholic cemetery.

The following from out of town were present at the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Emil George, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. George, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence George, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Montavon and Delphine Faivre of Cortland and Mr. and Mrs. John Parisot of Little Rock.
