Emma Pearson
Mrs. Emma Pearson died at her home in Mayfield Twp. on last Saturday Sept. 13 at 3:30p.m. Mrs. Pearson had been an invalid for 19 years caused by sciatic rheumatism which developed in later years into dropsy, which was the cause of her death.
Mrs. Pearson was born in Smoland, Sweden, on Dec. 15, 1850. She was united in marriage to Mathias Pearson in 1872. She came to this country with her husband and settled on the farm where they lived until they passed to their eternal rest. Mrs. Pearson leaves 3 sons and 3 daughters: John of Mayfield, Carl of Genoa, Mrs. Emma Alms and Mrs. Anna Mahlin of DeKalb and
Nathalia and Albert who resided at the parental home. Her husband died in 1900.
She was a good Christian woman, a kind and loving mother, always cheerful and greatly devoted to her home.
The funeral services were held from the house at 1:15 and from the Swedish Lutheran Church, of which she was a member, at 2:30 this Tuesday afternoon. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Albert Okerstrom officiated.
There are also surviving 2 sisters, Mrs. Victor Carlson who resides north of Sycamore and Mrs. Ida Lofquist of Chicago.
